Blockchain vs cryptocurrency

Blockchain is most famous (and controversial) in cryptocurrency.
Cryptocurrencies are digital currencies (or tokens) like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.
Crypto may be used to purchase everything from lunch to a house.
Unlike currency, crypto employs blockchain as a public ledger and advanced cryptographic security system to record and safeguard online transactions.

Bitcoin refers to both the blockchain and the cryptocurrency, however they are independent.
Bitcoin, a distributed ledger cryptosystem, was the first blockchain application in 2009.
Bitcoin was the first "blockchain"
This new digital currency's usage of blockchain drew both companies together and thrust them into the limelight.
Bitcoin blockchain explains the currency's underlying technology, whereas Bitcoin cryptocurrency describes the money itself.

There are more than 20,000 cryptocurrencies in the globe, with Bitcoin retaining most of the value.
Bitcoin's value has fluctuated between several thousand dollars in recent years.

Why is cryptocurrency so popular?

• Cryptocurrency decreases the need for separate currencies and central banks due to Blockchain's security. With blockchain, crypto may be delivered anywhere without currency exchange or central bank meddling. Cryptocurrencies may be lucrative. Speculators drove up the price of crypto, notably Bitcoin, making early adopters millionaires. Some sceptics claim speculators don't consider crypto's long-term advantages.

Large firms embraced blockchain-based digital money for payments. Tesla will spend $1.5 billion on Bitcoin and accept it as payment in 2021.

Blockchain-based digital currencies have numerous detractors. First, cryptocurrency isn't well-regulated. Many countries have embraced crypto, but few have formalised legislation. Speculators make crypto volatile. Instability has made some people rich while others have lost thousands.
Digital currency' future is uncertain. Now, blockchain's stratospheric growth looks more genuine than hype. Blockchain is making progress in a new, highly-exploratory industry, but it also has potential beyond Bitcoin.
