The service allowed users to store and transfer money through their mobile phones, using cloud computing technology to process transactions.   2011: Microsoft opened an office in Kenya, with a focus on cloud computing services. The company launched Windows Azure, a cloud computing platform for building, deploying, and managing applications and services.   2013: IBM announced plans to establish a cloud computing center in Nairobi, Kenya.
