Jhangir Dynasty in Sub-continent


Jhangir was only son of Akbar who eventually elected for managing affairs of Mughal dynasty in sub-continent. Man Sing and Khan e Azam Aziz, who were at very high rank of governance, made plan to make king to Khusro but many officers denied. These officers had strong belief on Mujadad Alaf Sani which is why they wanted to establish Islamic based system in subcontinent. They choose Jhangir for this purpose. They thought that Khusro had much influence of Akber so he would do same with Muslims religion as his grandfather did. 

Khusro on the pretext of visiting graveyard of Akbar succeeded to come out from Palace of Jhangir and gathered his expedition in Punjab. Hussain Baig also merged with his army in Mithra. In Taran Taaran, Guru Arjun prayed for his success and gave some financial support. He tried to conquer Lahore which governor, Dilwar denied to obey him. Jhangir with his companion, Sheik Farid crushed his revolt near Chanab river. Khusro was caught with his companions. He was blinded and entrusted to Khuram called Shah Jahan. Khusro died in Deccan but buried in Ala-Abad. 

Bengal was under governance of Afghan who never accepted Mughal. Jhangir sent Islam Khan for crushing their revolt. After getting victory, Jhangir gave Afgani high positions in his kingdom with huge salaries which helped in lessening hate of Afgani against Mughal.

After death of Rana Partab, his son, Amir Singh did revolt which was crushed by prince, Khuraam. They were also given high position with huge salaries in kingdom. Castle of Kangra was also conquered by Khurram. In Deccan, Ahmed Nagar was under Mughal dynasty but Nizam Shah conquered it. His companion, Ambar Malik tried to Mar-hat-ta farmers in gurrela fight against Mughals. Prince, Pervaiz with Mahabat Khan was sent in Deccan and Man Singh was also sent but all could not get success against these revolters. Then, Prince Khurram was elected for this project.

Malik Amber signed peace treaty with Khuram and returned all territories of Mughal.

Malaka Noor Jhan was 33 year old lady who was very beautiful and intelligent. Jhangir liked her and married her. Jhangir fell in her love so all affairs of governance were being controlled by Noor Jhan. She was very clever and had good problem solving skills. She was very generous.

She had his one daughter, Ladly Begum to whom she wanted to give in marriage of prince, Sher Yar. She did not like Khurram. On Qandhar revolts, Khuram were ordered to crush it but he denied due to Noor Jhan behavior. Due to these conflicts, Iran captured Qandhar, Shah Jhan revolted against Jhangir. Mahabat khan and Pervaiz were sent for crushing his revolt. Shah Jhan firstly reached in Castle Aseer Garh then entered in Uressa via Golkanda route. He captured Bihar and Bengal where Mahabat Khan gave him defeat. Shah Jhan again came in Deccan and showed obedience to Jhangir.

After Jhangir, Noor Jhan made plan to expel Mahabat khan and pervaiz from kingdom. He did insult of Mahabat Khan and blamed on him for corruption. Mahabat Khan went from Palace but he defeat the army of Jhangir while journey toward Kabul. In Jhalum, Mahabat Khan arrested Jhangir and Noor Jhan and Asif Khan. However, he freed them later and made Shah Jhan his friend. Jhangir fell ill and buried in Dil Kasha garden of Shadra, Lahore. Noor Jhan remained alone so Shah Jahan conquered whole kingdom. Asif Khan wanted to Shah Jhan as he was married with his daughter, Mumtaz Mahel who was niece of Noor Jhan.
